BATH IS THE TIMES AND SUNDAY TIMES UNIVERSITY OF THE YEAR
OXFORD RANKS TOP IN THE LEAGUE TABLES
DURHAM IS SPORTS UNIVERSITY OF THE YEAR
Must credit: The Times & The Sunday Times Good University Guide 2023
The University of Bath has been named The Times and The Sunday Times’ University of the Year, according to The Good University Guide 2023.
Ranking eighth in the overall league tables, up from ninth in 2021, Bath wins this year’s coveted University of the Year award on account of its strength across the board. As the fourth-highest institution for student satisfaction and fifth-highest for graduate prospects, it comes as no surprise that Bath has received record numbers of applicants in the 2021 and 2022 admissions cycles. Exeter was runner-up for University of the Year, having nearly doubled its enrolments over the past decade, while Birmingham, Oxford and Surrey were also shortlisted.
Oxford may have missed out on University of the Year, but it did top the league tables – its first No 1 position in 12 years. The prestigious university performed superbly across all academic measures and demonstrated by far the lowest student-to-staff ratio (10.5:1).
Durham has been named the Sports University of the Year. As third in the British University and Colleges Sport league for 2021-22, Durham’s collegiate structure encourages high participation rates throughout the university.
