The Sun has launched a brand new free-to-access political website that promises to make the 2015 general election a lot more fun.
Sunnation.co.uk has launched with a world exclusive video – the first time a camera crew has been given permission to follow the Prime Minister David Cameron for a full day. The video includes the PM wearing a pinhole camera as he walks the corridors of power at 10 Downing Street, giving viewers a never-before-seen look at what life is like in Britain’s top job.
SunNation will bring the creativity and humour of The Sun’s existing political content to shareable video, games, quizzes, interactive toys, lists, memes, opinion pieces, infographics, galleries and funny stories.
On the launch site there is also quizzes, videos explaining key policy differences between the parties, an interactive ‘Mr Politician Head’ toy and the new game ‘Can you parallel park Harriet Harman’s Pink Bus?’. The site will be updated regularly each day with new stories, games and features, as we respond to the key events of the election campaign.
SunNation.co.uk will not be a part of the Sun+ subscription, similar to The Times Red Box feature. SunNation will use social media to share original political content that will ensure The Sun is at the heart of the debate over the next ten weeks.
David Dinsmore, Sun Editor, said:
SunNation is an exciting new project for The Sun that offers us the chance to bring the paper’s witty and irreverent take on UK politics to a wider audience ahead of the General Election. Many try to copy The Sun’s unique style of reporting big events but very few match us. We’re confident SunNation will become essential reading for everybody interested in the outcome of May’s big vote.
