News UK is bringing an all-star cast to its events at the forthcoming Advertising Week Europe 2015 event in London (23rd-27th March) as it looks to promote the power of newspapers to advertising executives from across the continent.
Stars from the worlds of news, sports, television and politics will be joined by senior speakers from News UK and across the advertising industry in a packed schedule of sessions within the Advertising Week Europe Agenda.
The sessions will cover a broad range of topics, from the value of investigative journalism and the predicted impact of the forthcoming election on the media industry through to the role of sporting stars in brand-building and the future of media.
Highlights of News UK’s show agenda include:
- Jeremy Paxman in conversation with Times’ editor John Witherow around the Business of News.
- Rory Bremner, David Blunkett MP, Charles Kennedy MP and Dr Liam Fox MP on what’s really going to happen in the forthcoming election and what this might mean for the media industry.
- Rio Ferdinand, Lawrence Dallaglio, Rebecca Adlington and Simon Oliviera in discussion with editor of The Sun David Dinsmore about the role of sports stars in brand building.
- Rugby World Cup stars Stuart Barnes (England), Schalk Brits (South Africa), Michael Lynagh (Australia), Shane Horgan (Ireland) and Stephen Jones (Wales) will be giving ‘tales from the tour’ over an exclusive Sunday Times Wine Club tasting session.
- ITV International Affairs Editor Rageh Omar will be hosting a panel on the future of investigative journalism featuring political blogger Guido Fawkes, Sunday Times journalist David Walsh, renowned investigative documentary producer Nicole Kleeman and Channel 4 news presenter Cathy Newman.
In addition, News UK will once again be producing the Newsroom Daily show newspaper, offering 16 printed pages of content every day with 5500 copies being distributed at the show and at major agencies across London. This year the paper will be carrying exclusive interviews, show reviews and previews and opinions from commentators as diverse as Danny Finkelstein and Katie Price.
Paul Hayes, Managing Director, News UK Commercial, said:
We wanted to use this event to demonstrate why newspapers remain an unparalleled opportunity for advertisers. Much like our papers do, we’re pulling together some of the brightest stars from across the worlds of news, celebrity, sports, politics and business to investigate some of the most pressing issues of the day.
We see Advertising Week Europe as one of the key annual events in the UK media calendar and we wanted to be sure that we’re leading the debate across the board.
