When the Premier League returns in August, talkSPORT will be the only broadcaster to host the two opening games, with the 8pm Friday night match and the first 12.30pm Saturday game, live and exclusively on the network.
talkSPORT raises the curtain with two massive fixtures – Crystal Palace versus Arsenal at 8pm on Friday August 5 and Fulham versus Liverpool at 12.30pm on Saturday August 6
talkSPORT currently broadcasts more than 400 matches per season, 250 of which are exclusive to the network, but over the coming year will broadcast more than 450 games. This means across all competitions talkSPORT will broadcast more live football than any other broadcaster across the Premier League, EFL, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, Champions League, every game in the 2022 FIFA World Cup™ in Qatar and more women’s football than ever before, including the Women’s Super League, Women’s FA Cup and Women’s Euros this summer.
In May, talkSPORT was awarded the three Premier League live radio broadcast rights packages for the next three football seasons to 2025, to broadcast the Premier League live and exclusively to its 3.1 million listeners.
The station’s award-winning Saturday GameDay coverage is led by Reshmin Chowdhury, with Friday evening games to be presented by Hugh Woozencroft and talkSPORT’s Lead Football Presenter Adrian Durham, who will also lead on Monday night games. Listeners can hear more from talkSPORT’s GameDay podcast – talkSPORT’s definitive podcast for Premier League fans, with GameDay preview, reaction and analysis across the weekend, presented by Sam Matterface.
Head of talkSPORT, Lee Clayton said: “Saturday is still GameDay, but talkSPORT is now the leading destination for football on Fridays too. Start the season with talkSPORT for the Premier League curtain raiser and all the live coverage from the first kick to the final whistle on Fridays and Saturdays.
“To be the only UK broadcaster to have the first two games to launch our new season is a thrilling prospect. We can’t wait to get stuck into Mondays too with a new look and a new format.
“Our Saturday evening phone-in will be the first and the best place for supporters to share their pain and their joy. We’ve got a few tricks up our sleeves for that show too.”
Tune in to talkSPORT’s live Premier League coverage online, via DAB Digital Radio, via your smart speakers, on 1089 or 1053 AM or via the talkSPORT app.
