The Sunday Times Style magazine has teamed up with British fashion luminary, Topshop, to launch The Archive Collection - a limited edition collection of Topshop’s cult classics, reborn.
Forty Style magazine winners were invited to rub shoulders with fashion journalists and bloggers, personal shopping clients and Sunday Times VIPs for an exclusive preview of the collection at Topshop’s flagship store in Oxford Circus on 8 July 2015.
In the intimate surroundings of the Personal Shopping Suite, the event kicked off with Sunday Times Style’s Fashion Features Editor, Pandora Sykes, in conversation with Topshop’s Creative Consultant, Geoffrey Finch.
Dressed in head-to-toe in the collection, Pandora grilled Geoffrey on what it was like to delve into Topshop’s vast history to rediscover the pieces and campaigns that first-established Topshop as a key player in British fashion and the process to modernise and re-imagine these classics for a new generation of Topshop girl.
A lively debate with the audience ensued, mirrored online, with Style and Topshop social media followers encouraged to use the hashtag #bringthatback to put forward their suggestions on which Topshop cult classics they would like to see remade.
The audience were then given the exclusive opportunity to shop the collection before it hit Topshop floors the following day.
Pandora Sykes, Sunday Times Style’s Fashion Features Editor, said:
"I love the scope and direction of the differing Topshop lines; and the nostalgia of the Archive line really appealed to me. I was thrilled that myself and Style were part of the launch and I can't wait to see what gets brought back in the future!"
