News UK has announced that it is now managing the delivery of Time Out magazine to free distribution sites in London, including the capital’s tube, rail stations and tourist venues.
News UK will also continue to deliver Time Out’s subscription copies through Royal Mail and its ‘direct to consumer’ service.
Meanwhile, for its printing business, News UK has just renewed major contracts to produce both The Evening Standard and Financial Times newspapers. At its three state-of-the art printing plants, News UK prints 1.2 billion copies of The Sun, The Times and The Sunday Times every year, together with a further 800 million non-News UK titles.
Tracey Hart, Commercial Director of Operations at News UK, said:
“We are delighted to be managing such a significant part of the distribution of Time Out, an important free publication in the UK. In a competitive market, Newssolutions looks to offer businesses a range of effective and cost-efficient print, logistics and operations services.”
Chris Taylor, Chief Operating Officer at News UK, said:
“News UK is committed to investing in both its print and digital media business. Our growing distribution offering along with the successful renewal of external print contracts reflect our intention to expand this important side of the business.”
Alex Batho, Publisher of Time Out, said:
“Time Out is the ultimate insider's guide to a city – we want to inspire people to enrich and enjoy their social lives, and the magazine is a vital channel for this. Getting it into the right people’s hands, as efficiently as possible every week, is a key part of our business. For many of our readers, Time Out is the only magazine they pick up, so the decision to work with News UK was not one we took lightly. We’re very excited to be able to take advantage of their experience of large-scale print distribution, and to continue to inspire Londoners to do more in this amazing city.”
