Darren Gough and Mark Butcher are part of talkSPORT’s coverage
talkSPORT today announces its commentary team for its exclusive coverage of England’s Test series in the West Indies.
Darren Gough returns to the commentary box following his appointment as Managing Director of Yorkshire Cricket and will be alongside two-time T20 World Cup winner and former West Indies spinner Samuel Badree, two-time England Ashes winner Steve Harmison, former England batsman Mark Butcher, former England spinner and Surrey Head Coach Gareth Batty, former England batsman Roland Butcher, talkSPORT Cricket Editor Jon Norman and leading cricket broadcasters Mark Nicholas, Barry Wilkinson, Jarrod Kimber and Neil Manthorp. talkSPORT’s coverage is powered by CricViz and the network’s scorer and talkSPORT’s 12th man is Garry Morgan.
Listeners can get extra content from the series from a brand new, ECB-sponsored Following On Podcast available every single day of the tour. For anyone missing the action or in need of a recap, a daily one-hour highlights show will air at 9am at midday on talkSPORT 2, with the hugely popular Cricket Collective show continuing to be broadcast weekly on the station. talkSPORT’s coverage will also be amplified across its social channels.
Head of talkSPORT, Lee Clayton said: “talkSPORT covered England’s last tour of the West Indies in 2019 and since then we have continued to expand our award-winning international cricket coverage, to include other international series too such as India versus New Zealand and West Indies versus Ireland.
“I’m delighted we have Steve Harmison in our XI to bring England a bit of luck. He was Player of the Series in 2003/04 which is the only time England have beaten West Indies in a series in the Caribbean in the last 54 years, so here’s hoping for a change in England’s fortunes.”
Listeners can tune into coverage of the series on talkSPORT 2 at talkSPORT.com, via the app, connected listening devices or via DAB digital radio. Coverage of the first Test starts from 1pm on March 8.
