The Arsenal record goalscorer was a special guest for The Sun fantasy football game Dream Team’s pre-season get-together at The News Building on Tuesday 4th August 2015.
Henry, 37, now a Sky Sports pundit and Sun columnist, shared the stage with former Manchester United and Spurs star Teddy Sheringham.
Before a packed audience of Sun+ members, Dream Teamers, commercial contacts, bloggers and key press, Henry and Sheringham were quizzed by SunSport head of content Shaun Custis.
As the Premier League gets under way this Saturday, both Henry and Sheringham tipped Chelsea to retain their crown. “They are the team to beat,” Henry said.
Asked to name their best all-time Premier League player, Henry went for Manchester United midfielder Paul Scholes and Sheringham for Newcastle and Spurs legend Paul Gascoigne.
The event was introduced by The Sun Editor David Dinsmore, who said he was “really excited about Dream Team with over one million people playing.”
Sheringham, 49, who has just become manager of League 2 club Stevenage, reflected on the English game: “It’s getting faster every year, but the 100 per cent commitment hasn’t changed. The English mentality is that level of determination.”
