The Sun’s brand new ‘Best of British Awards - The UK’s Top 100 Companies to Work For’ is now open for entries, celebrating the companies helping make the UK great again.
Whether a small start-up, a growing medium-sized firm or one of Britain’s biggest brands, we want to hear from the Best of British.
The Sun’s Best of British Awards are the perfect way to showcase your membership’s excellence in this area and raise the profile of your area to businesses looking to expand to new locations and keen to find an engaged workforce.
The free-to-enter awards are open to small employers with ten or more staff members, up to the UK’s biggest household names.
We’ll be championing companies right across our Isles who are treating their workers well, creating products to be proud of and driving our economy forward.
Some of the UK’s most famous firms including Tesco and HSS Hire have already signed up. And we’re being backed by Britain’s best-known business experts, including former Dragon’s Den star, millionaire retailer and creator of Small Business Sunday THEO PAPHITIS, who said:
“Home-grown businesses are the lifeblood of the UK economy, creating tens of thousands of jobs and pumping money into the country. We’ve always been a nation of shopkeepers and we should be proud to be a nation of entrepreneurs and small businesses too.”
SIMON WALKER, Director General at the prestigious INSTITUTE OF DIRECTORS added his support, saying:
“The Sun’s Best of British Awards is a fantastic initiative, which recognises the unique and unbelievable business success stories up and down the country. By putting small businesses on a level-footing with the big names, it gives companies the chance to showcase their triumphs against the very best and could kick-start their next chapter of growth.”
JOHN ALLAN, National Chairman of the FEDERATION OF SMALL BUSINESSES continued:
“These awards recognise the hard work, ambition and innovation that goes into running a successful business, and the contribution they make to society.”
And the Government’s SMALL BUSINESS MINISTER ANNA SOUBRY said:
“Throughout Britain there are all kinds of great small businesses employing hard working people. We have a record five million small businesses in the UK and these new awards will show which ones are the very best to work for.”
HOW YOUR MEMBERSHIP CAN ENTER
The awards are open to all firms with ten or more employees. To take part, the company must be UK-based with its main headquarters here.
Sorry but companies which are part of a larger firm whose main HQ is based abroad cannot enter.
Your members simply need to fill in the form on this page http://jobs.thesun.co.uk/article/best-of-british-2015/ and we will send them a link to the questionnaire.
At least ten employees must fill in the survey for small business, rising to five per cent of staff for bigger firms. Answers are anonymous and the research covers areas including company culture, pay, career progression and how your firm is viewed in your industry.
