There are a record 20 nominations for News UK titles in the 2015 British Journalism Awards (BJA) in London on December 1.

The Sunday Times leads the way with nine shortlisted entries followed by The Sun on seven and The Times with four.

The fourth BJA, organised by the Press Gazette, will be held in the capital’s Stationers’ Hall.

Our finalists are as follows – Breaking news award for the best story of the year: Jonathan Calvert, George Arbuthnott & David Collins (Sunday Times – ST), FIFA coverage; Stephen Moyes (Sun – S), ‘Lord coke’.

Business, finance and economics journalism: Daniel Jones (S); Harry Wilson (Times – T).

Campaign of the year: Jonathan Leake (ST), Clean Air Campaign; Sharon Hendry & Sam Carlisle (S), Give Me Shelter.

Foreign affairs journalism: Anthony Loyd (T); Christina Lamb (ST).

Investigation of the year: Calvert, Arbuthnott & Collins (ST), athletics doping scandal.

New journalist of the year: Jake Ryan (S); Josh Boswell (ST).

Photojournalism: Jack Hill (T); Kai Wiedenhofer (ST); Manu Brabo (ST).

Politics journalism: Michael Savage & Rachel Sylvester (T); Tom Newton Dunn (S).

Popular journalism: Mike Ridley (S), interview with Lee Rigby’s father; Tom Morgan & Jonathan Reilly (S), ‘Their royal heilnesses’.

Science and Technology journalism: Leake (ST).

Sports journalism: Calvert, Arbuthnott & Collins (ST), athletics doping scandal.
