Jane Johnson has been appointed editorial director of The Times and The Sunday Times, and will start this summer.
Reporting to John Witherow, editor of The Times and Emma Tucker, editor of The Sunday Times, Jane will work with the newsrooms as well as the commercial and marketing teams to grow audience, traffic and digital revenue to Times Money Mentor, Times Enterprise Network and Times Travel. She will also develop other editorial and commercial projects.
In her role prior to this, she was senior director of commercial content at The Telegraph. She has worked in senior editorial positions including deputy editor and associate editor at several national newspapers, Jane has launched three national magazines and was director of TV channel Sky Living where she also oversaw the entertainment division's digital channels.
Jane said: "I am delighted to be joining The Times and The Sunday Times, newspapers I have always loved for their brilliant journalism.
"It will be a great privilege to work alongside some of the most talented and respected editors and journalists in the country in such an exciting new role and at a key point in its illustrious history."
