The Irish Sun Editor Paul Clarkson is to become The Sun’s new managing editor, succeeding Stig Abell who has been appointed TLS Editor.
The Sun Editor-in-Chief Tony Gallagher said: “Paul has been editor of The Irish Sun for three years and has done brilliantly building out a distinct identity for the Irish edition, cementing the paper as the most-read tabloid in Ireland as well as starting an edition in Northern Ireland.”
In other Sun moves, The Times Scotland Editor Les Snowdon is appointed an assistant editor in London.
Gallagher said: “Les brings with him a wealth of top newspaper experience, having been the Scottish Editor of The Times for just over a year and previously sports editor of the Daily Mail and Editor of Scotland on Sunday.”
Snowdon will start in June.
Deputies Alan Muir and Kieran McDaid are being made Acting Editors of the Scottish (following Gordon Smart’s move to London) and Irish Sun respectively.
