From Barrow to Bristol City and Stockport to Swansea talkSPORT has the EFL covered this season with more exclusive commentaries, and coverage of all 72 teams across the year.
Kicking off this Friday as the losing playoff finalists Huddersfield face relegated Burnley and new manager Vincent Kompany, talkSPORT will exclusively broadcast over 100 EFL games, with reporters at hundreds more key matches across the season.
Also on the opening weekend Championship new boys Sunderland face Coventry live on talkSPORT, whilst Cardiff City v Norwich City, Middlesbrough v West Brom and Watford v Sheffield United are all on talkSPORT2.
Football fans will be able to listen exclusively to every play-off game live on talkSPORT & talkSPORT2, including all three finals, and the network will broadcast extensive coverage of the Carabao Cup and exclusive commentary from the Papa John’s Trophy.
talkSPORT2 will also broadcast over 90 hours of EFL coverage on the EFL Show, the only show on national radio dedicated to the Championship, League 1 & League 2. On air twice weekly, hear exclusive interviews and in-depth looks at the big issues affecting listeners’ clubs, with the opportunity to watch the biggest names and hottest debates back on talkSPORT’s youtube channel.
And we’ll keep the coverage going throughout the Winter World Cup with 3 rounds of EFL fixtures and the continuation of the EFL show.
The opening weekend’s coverage will feature commentary and analysis from talkSPORT’s award winning team including Adrian Durham, Trevor Sinclair, Dan Windle, Micky Gray, Lucy Ward, Courtney Sweetman-Kirk, Perry Groves, Jim Proudfoot, David Connolly, Adam Bridge and Mark Wilson.
Through-out the season additional commentary will be provided from fan favourites Chris Iwelumo, Sam Parkin, Neil Redfearn, Adrian Clarke, Dean Holden, Ian Holloway, Jed Wallace, David Preece, Shaun Derry, Jamie Mackie and Jamie Cureton.
Head of talkSPORT Lee Clayton says:
“talkSPORT is the home of football and this season listeners can count on us to provide the best and most extensive coverage of the EFL.
Broadcasting over 340 hours of content across our platforms, talkSPORT will be the top destination to enjoy coverage across the EFL competitions this season.
And as we are Powered by Fans, I’m delighted that listeners will be able to express their views and explore the biggest issues affecting their clubs on talkSPORT2’s EFL Show.”
EFL CEO Trevor Birch says:
“With another exciting season set to kick-off later this week, we are delighted that talkSPORT will be providing live, exclusive radio commentary at more than 100 EFL league games as well coverage of other key fixtures across all our competitions.
“talkSPORT’s coverage and multi-platform content approach continues to bring EFL fans even closer to the action alongside showcasing the League to as broad an audience as is possible.”
