Carling lands headline sponsorship of talkSPORT Euros Coverage

London, Thursday 20 June 2024:  talkSPORT has announced that Carling is one of the headline sponsors of the station’s Euros 2024 coverage. Spanning radio, digital audio, social, podcasts, and YouTube the multi-faceted partnership helps fans never miss a moment of the latest twists and turns of the tournament.

Fronted by talkSPORT’s award-winning reporters, Carling correspondents will be live from pubs pouring Carling across the UK around eight of the biggest games, with commentators like Ian Abrahams soaking up the atmosphere and chatting to groups of fans. Elsewhere, Carling will be fuelling updates from the camp, and on social, fans will be treated to bespoke social activations, including an outside broadcast live on talkSPORT's YouTube channel.

The partnership was brokered by Carling’s agency, Carat UK – a dentsu company, with production of assets managed in-house by talkSPORT.

David Wilcox, Commercial Director, News Broadcasting, said: “This Euros 2024 competition, talkSPORT is going all in across radio, digital audio, and social media, so it is fantastic to line up such a well-aligned sponsor in Carling who will be bringing us updates from fans on the ground.”

Lee Willett, Carling Brand Director, Molson Coors Beverage Company, said: With football being the UK’s favourite beer drinking occasion and Carling being the

biggest football fan, we’re excited to be working with talkSPORT again, ensuring Carling is in amongst the action at some of the biggest footballing moments this summer.

Anna Rose, Client Partner, Carat UK, said: “We are excited to be extending our long standing partnership with talkSPORT across the Euros’ tournament, reinforcing Carlings inherent alignment with all things football. Building on learnings and past success, this campaign is using a wider multi-channel approach to ensure we are reaching audiences outside the radio remit, tapping into the full talkSPORT ecosystem to cement Carling within the Euros conversation.

The latest RAJAR figures show the talkSPORT network delivered its largest-ever audience of 3.7m listeners, an increase of 4.2% year-on-year, listening for 22.5m hours - up 10.8% year-on-year.  The dream team line-up of presenters on the station now includes Alan Brazil, Jeff Stelling, Ally McCoist, Jim White, Simon Jordan, and Natalie Sawyer. Covering the field with punditry are Stuart Pearce, Gabby Agbonlahor, and Lianne Sanderson bringing the very best analysis.
