Virgin Radio UK celebrates Diwali
9th November 2023: Virgin Radio UK is pleased to announce Virgin Radio Celebrates Diwali, a unique pop-up radio station launching on Friday 10th November. Diwali is the festival of lights which starts tomorrow and symbolises the triumph of light over darkness. The festival is celebrated for 5 days where families will get together, light their homes with candles and decorate them with Rangoli patterns.
With Virgin Radio Celebrates Diwali, listeners can experience the vibrant spirit of Diwali like never before! Our pop-up radio station is dedicated to becoming the ultimate musical companion for your annual celebrations, ensuring your day is filled with joy and a festive atmosphere. A selection of the biggest hits from both Bollywood and British Asian artists has been curated, guaranteeing that every song you hear will be an absolute chart-topper. Once you tune in, you'll find it hard to turn off!
We're here to deliver a service that the British Asian community has been longing for, making us the essential soundtrack to your Diwali festivities. Join us in making this Diwali an unforgettable celebration with the perfect blend of music, culture, and excitement.
The station will broadcast as a web stream at VirginRadio.co.uk/celebrates. The pop up station will launch on Friday 10th November at midday with Harpz Kaur who most recently fronted CBBC's Saturday mashup and BBC Asian Network's Breakfast Show for 5 years. The schedule will also feature international DJ and music producer Jags Klimax, Narinder Kaur, former Big Brother contestant and Rupa Mooker, presenter on Awaaz FM in Glasgow.
