talkSPORT to host live talent football match talkSPORT Trophy

Thursday 27th July 2023: talkSPORT is pleased to announce that its roster of incredible talent will be taking part in a live football match, the talkSPORT Trophy tomorrow, Friday 28th July. Alan Brazil’s Breakfast Team will battle it out against Adrian Durham’s talkSPORT all stars in a game of five-a-side.

A stellar bunch of ex footballers and celebrities will be dusting off their football boots and taking part in the biggest talkSPORT event of the summer. Wales legend Dean Saunders has been named captain of the Breakfast team, and he’ll be up against former England striker Darren Bent, who will be proudly wearing the armband for the talkSPORT All Stars. The winner has the honour of holding aloft the prestigious talkSPORT trophy.

Paul Hawksbee and Andy Jacobs will broadcast the whole event on air and live on Youtube, with build up from 1pm, commentary throughout and - of course - post match reaction. The After Party will be live on Drivetime from 4pm with Darren Bent and Darren Ambrose.

Adrian Durham has named his talkSPORT All Stars squad, which includes assistant manager Phil Brown being reunited with his former Hull star Jimmy Bullard!

Dean Saunders, Captain of Alan Brazil’s talkSPORT Breakfast Team, comments: "I’ve played 75 times for my country and lifted trophies in England and abroad but I can’t wait to dust off my boots and get back on the pitch in what will be an absolute classic versus the talKSPORT All Stars. I’m proud to be wearing the captain’s armband for the first time, and I can tell you that after speaking to the boss, we will be playing Brazil-ball! With over 230 international caps between us, we are loading up with strikers and going to outscore the All Stars!"

Adrian Durham, Manager of talkSPORT All Stars, says: "This game will go down as a major moment in the rich history of talkSPORT and I'm proud to be in charge of the talkSPORT All Stars. Alan Brazil and I have both been at talkSPORT from the very start, so there's no doubt this game will be competitive. He will have his Breakfast Team fired up for sure, but the All Stars quality will shine through. I can't wait to get on that touchline."
