The Sun launches Sun+ - the new digital entertainment bundle…

ON August 1, 2013 The Sun launches Sun+: a whole new world of digital entertainment available across web, phone and tablet devices.

From tomorrow Sun+ members will be able to access our exclusive news, showbiz, features and sport coverage for only £2 a week - unbeatable value that will give readers more great content and more ways to view it whenever they want.

Sun+ will be made up of three pillars: Sun+ Goals, Sun+ Digital and Sun+Perks.

With access to Sun+ Goals, members get exclusive access to near-live video clips of every Barclays Premier League goal on the go - hours before the football round-up programmes have even started.

Only Sun+ subscribers will have access to The Sun online; with thesun.co.uk available on whichever device suits them.

Every month Sun+ members will be offered freebies, deals and promotions worth more than £200. Perks include money off at top High Street stores, free apps and ebooks, cinema tickets and more.

So that our print readers can enjoy the same benefits as our digital members we have installed new, inject printing technology that allows unique codes to be printed daily. Readers can redeem these online and gain full access to Sun+.

Sun editor, David Dinsmore, said: “This is a landmark event for The Sun and a testament to the pioneering attitude of Britain’s best-selling newspaper. Once again we are leading the way with our innovative technology, drawing on our journalistic heritage and our unrivalled world-class content. Asking readers to pay for content is the only way to protect the future of the newspaper industry.”

Creating an attractive bundle of news, entertainment and great offers worth paying for is a key part of Sun parent company News UK’s strategy. By launching Sun+, we are delivering greater choice and unlocking this new world of digital entertainment for both our print and digital customers. It is also a clear sign of our commitment to invest in and secure a sustainable future for our great journalism, putting it and our consumers at the heart of everything we do.
