Success for The Sun at The Press Awards

It was a night to remember for The Sun at last night's The Press Awards, with the paper scooping a total of six awards and commendations.

Those awards included Scoop of the Year for the exclusive on Matt Hancock’s affair with his Aide, and Defence Editor, Jerome Starkey winning News Reporter of the year for his brave and commendable work covering the invasion of Ukraine.

Speaking on the night, The Sun’s Political Editor, Harry Cole said “It’s a triple whammy for the greatest newspaper. Jerome Starkey puts us all to shame with his brilliant reporting from the front line, his bravery is breathtaking. Back home, our Hancock scoop defined public interest journalism and our production team knocked the story out the park. I am proud every day to be a part of this rockstar team under rockstar Editor, Victoria Newton.”
